Braided Ham and Cheese Bread

Braided Ham and Cheese Bread

This is more a technique than a recipe.  You could fill this with so many things.  In the picture above I used cheese whiz, sliced leftover ham and some shredded cheddar.  You could add veggies, cheeses, meats to your liking.  A dessert version would be wonderful with cream cheese and pie filling or jam.

Defrost a loaf of frozen bread dough according to package directions.  On a well greased surface, roll the dough into a large rectangle.  Place your "stuffing" ingredients down the center of the dough longways.  Using kitchen scissors, cut a fringe down each side of the dough towards the "stuffing."  Starting at one end of the dough, fold each fringe flap over the "stuffing" alternating from each side.  Bake according to bread dough directions, watching closely.

Have fun with this and let me know what your favorite "stuffings" are!
