Crusty Rustic Bread

This was my entry into yeast breads.  I have been very fearful of trying to bake with those little critters.  Since trying this recipe, I have ventured into  many more yeasty recipes.

Crusty Rustic Bread

3 cups flour
1 3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon yeast
1 1/2 cup water

In a large bowl, whisk dry ingredients. Stir in water until combined.  Cover with plastic wrap and allow to rise for 12 to 18 hours.  Heat oven to 450 degrees.  Warm your cast iron pot for 30 minutes in the oven.  Lightly grease your pot, place dough inside, cover an bake for 30 minutes.  Uncover and cook an additional 15 minutes.  Place on a Rack to cool.

Feel free to experiment with this recipe.  Add Cheese and or herbs to personalize it to your tastes.
