Sassy Water

As I've mentioned before, I am a super happy member of the Community Helpings Co Op picking up at the Troy, IL, location.  We get so many fresh fruits and veggies, that we are all finding new ways to use and love them!

One such way that has been a big hit with everyone in the group is "Sassy Water."  There are a million different ways to make it and then to make it your own.  It's so simplistic, you cut up some fruit, veggies or herbs and allow them to infuse with a pitcher of water for a few hours or overnight, then enjoy!

My favorite combo is Citrus.  Pictured above I have an Orange, a few Mandarins, and a Lemon.  Other interesting combos are Strawberries and Mint, Cucumber and Lime, and Peach with I think Grapes and Kiwi.  So many endless combinations of what you like best, just get creative with it!

I waited so long to try it, but I've fallen a victim to "Sassy Water's" wonders.  I've even been caught taking it to go in my acrylic tumbler.

Jello Shot Wedges

Time for an Adult Swim, giggle.

These were a lot simpler than I thought they would be and a lot easier to eat too that regular jello shots.  I would consider doing a larger citrus fruit like oranges.
Jello Shot Wedges
2 to 3 lemons
1 cup boiling water
1 package of Jello Gelatin
3/4 cup alcohol (I used kiwi strawberry vodka)

First prepare the lemons.  Cut them in half and gently peel out the inside pulp, leaving an empty bowl.  Place your "bowls" on a cupcake pan or some crumpled foil so they won't tip over once filled.
Measure out your alcohol, and place a few ice cubes in it to make it cold.
Whisk the jello and the boiling water in a bowl for at least a minute to make sure it is fully dissolved.
Gently mix in the chilled alcohol without the ice.
Carefully pour the jello into your "bowls" and place in the fridge to set.  This usually takes 2-3 hours.
When ready to serve, cut each "bowl" into 3 wedges, serve immediately.
