We get tired of rice crispy treats at our house. They just seem boring when you can make something fun like these. Another bonus is my son has spring time allergies. They say that eating locally produced honey helps to lessen your reaction to the local allergens. This recipe is a great way to get honey into their diet.
Peanut Butter Cheerios Bars
1/2 cup honey or corn syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
3 cups Cheerios
In a small saucepan mix the honey and brown sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat stirring frequently. Boil for 1 minute stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter. Pour over the Cheerios, then spread into a heavily greased 8 x 8 inch pan.
