Planning a menu for the week helps me to keep focused on eating at home. If there is no last minute decision making as to what to eat, we are much less likely to be tempted to grab a pizza or fast food. We may not always stick to the plan, family life is all about flexibility, but it's a great place to start.
When planning your menu, think about what items you already have on hand. You can't save money if you don't use the products you get at a great price. Especially when it comes to produce. I belong to an amazing Co Op which has locations all over the St. Louis Area. It can't save us money if we let it rot in the fridge.
Monday: Salad Bar - Fix Your Own Salads
Romaine from the Co op and other Veggies
Tuesday: Chicken Florentine with Spinach from the Co Op
Wednesday: Cube Steaks with Parsnip Potatoes
Thursday: Sloppy Joe's with Homemade Pita Pockets
(looks like a fun recipe, wish me luck)
Friday: Picnic in the Park
Tri-Township Park in Troy, Il, will be playing the Smurf's on a big screen under the stars. It's such a fun night, so we'll be having dinner in the park!
Saturday: Fried Rice
Sunday: Must Go's
because everything left in the Fridge Must Go

Wishing you luck with the homemade pitas.
ReplyDeleteI'm always interested in some new recipes to add to my Recipe File Box. That's why I love MPM!
